Wine runs deep in the heart of the Ross family. Percy Walter George Ross, grandfather of current winemaker Ronald Ross, began making wine during prohibition while living in Upstate New York and operating the Crystal Grill. It was during this time that Percy passed on the art of wine-making on to his children.
In 1985, Ronald Ross spent time in the beautiful wine country of the Finger Lake Region learning from his father the wine-making secrets passed down in the basement of the Crystal Grill. In 1996, Ronald and Deanna Ross acquired the Triple "R" Ranch and began producing premium wines under The Ranch Wines label in the heart of North Texas.
The Ross' established Lone Star Wine Cellars in 2002 to share The Ranch Wines with their friends and neighbors of Historic Downtown McKinney.
